A busy and growing medical marijuana company in the town of Amado, Arizona is expected to undertake two construction projects designed to expand its facilities.
Arizona Natural Remedies has received the unanimous approval of the Santa Cruz County Planning and Zoning Commission to build the new structures on their site at 2731 E. Frontage Road. The facilities will help the company, which already has several greenhouses up and running, along with a 1-acre cultivation field, increase its ability to both cultivate and process marijuana at the same site. A planned on-site 2,400 square-foot processing facility will eliminate the extra step of having to send the raw marijuana plant to a dispensary. Arizona Natural Remedies specializes in a variety of marijuana-ingredient products, including bottled creams and ointments. As such, it is part of a thriving medical marijuana industry in Arizona that topped the $387 million mark last year. Medical marijuana companies in the Grand Canyon State are regulated by the Arizona Department of Health Services, providing products for an estimated 180,000 medical marijuana patients.
