Work could begin later this year, or early next year, on a project that will see the construction of around 250,000 square feet of new office space in the Old Town section of Scottsdale, Arizona. The project, set to go up at 4419 N. Scottsdale Road, is being developed by the real estate investment firm Stockdale Capital Partners, and will also include some 21,000 square feet of retail space. Members of the Scottsdale City Council have now approved a zoning district map amendment for the project, despite the objection of some residents who said they thought the proposed structure was too big for the Old Town area. The project, called the Marquee, will go up on a 9.5-acre site, and is being seen as a response to a demand for more Class A office space in the city. In the talking stage for several years, the modern building will have twelve floors with an exterior largely made up of glass walls. The project will also feature an amenity deck on the eighth floor rooftop deck. An exact construction schedule for The Marquee has not been announced, although it was earlier stated that the project could be completed by sometime in 2021. By Garry Boulard
