Plans have been announced for the construction of a modern, multi-purpose senior living complex set to go up on the east side of Flagstaff on a currently vacant wooded site. The Fort Worth-based Civitas Senior Living, which has lately been expanding its facility footprint nationally, says the new 211,000 square foot center will have 204 units, along with a lounge, pub, swimming pool, and dog park. The vast majority of those units will be for independent living, with 66 for assisted living, and another 18 for memory care. What is being called the Bluffs of Flagstaff will be built in a partnership with the developer Desert Land Group of Lake Havasu. Civitas, which bills itself as a senior living management company, is currently the second largest senior residential care business in Texas. Nationally, it operates more than three dozen senior care facilities. The company announced earlier this year that it intends to build twenty more such projects in the next two years. Those new projects include a 114-unit senior complex in Littleton, Colorado, as well as a 92-unit facility in Lake Havasu. By Garry Boulard
