A well-known and popular food service distributor is making plans to build a new and big warehouse in Aurora, Colorado. The Shamrock Foods structure will go up on nearly 120 acres near the Denver International Airport. The company also currently has an 85,000 square foot warehouse inside the 1,500-acre Majestic Commercenter in Aurora off of Interstate 70. In a statement, Shamrock Foods, which is based in Phoenix, said the new facility will be designed to “accommodate the growing demand of both existing and new customers.” Shamrock Foods purchased the land for the new project from a local real estate company for just over $30 million. The company, founded nearly a century ago, currently has warehouses and stores in ten states, including Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. Its primary customer base is comprised of health-care facilities, school systems, and restaurant chains. Shamrock’s offerings include everything from dairy products and refrigerated and frozen foodstuffs, to party products and janitorial supplies. With more than $3 billion in annual revenue, Shamrock Foods is listed by Forbes as the 158th largest private company in America. It is additionally regarded as the largest family-run dairy in the Southwest. By Garry Boulard
